Could diet soda taste better? March 12, 2009

Filed under: Reagan — Chris & Jill Bremer @ 11:28 am

Ok… I have to tell on myself, even though I really don’t want to.

I drink soda from the 2-liter bottle!  You know… from the bottle it comes in… the 2-liter.  BUT… in my defense… I am the only one here who drinks diet pop.  So I feel like it’s okay.  It’s all me.  And mostly, it’s just a drink… to wash something down.  It’s not a whole cup or anything.  Just a little bit.  I like the sweetness without the calories and other junk!

Well…..

Just about 5 minutes ago I took a swig of “Diet Dew Drop”!!  Kroger’s store brand of Mountain Dew.  Reagan turns around and says “You really like that peps don’t you?”

Side note….  Reagan calls all soda Peps.  As in Pepsi.  HOWEVER… she LOVES Coca-cola and knows mommy and daddy don’t like Pepsi.  I think she learned this from the many Diet Pepsi’s Grandma Deb Bremer would bring over.

I replied “Yes” and put the 2-liter bottle back in the fridge.

Then, Reagan says “You should try it in a cup!!”  As thought it would be better in a cup!

I guess I must now take that cue and start to pour myself a cup.  I cringe at the many dishes this will create.  But… if it could possibly taste better????  Then I MUST give it try!!

Stuff and Things March 7, 2009

I swear, so much time passes between my posts that I forget most of what I want to write about.

First off… let’s start with this past week…  Reagan looks out the window of the van as we’re driving and starts talking about a “boneyard”.  I assume it’s a cemetery.  I’ve never had the situation that would bring up the need for an explanation of a cemetery.  So I asked her one day while passing a cemetery if that was indeed a “boneyard”.  She said yes and then let me know what it’s for.

“People with metal tectors (detectors) go and find people wiffout skin and that is a skeleton.  Then they take the skeleton and put it in the ground and bury it and that is in the boneyard.  And that’s why it’s a boneyard.”

It’s been warm enough here lately for the kids to ride their bikes a bit.  Zac is now riding without training wheels.  He’s allowed to ride around the block by himself as long as he doesn’t stop for anyone!  He doesn’t have to cross a street so I feel confident he shouldn’t have to stop at all.  Although, he often tells the story of how, when he first started to ride around the block after mastering the two-wheeler, he runs right into a parked car in a driveway.   Often,  he’s thought about this parked car.  One day he says “Mom, you know, I don’t remember seeing that car ever again.  I think they were robbers.  And the owners were gone and the robbers were parked there to steal the stuff and make their getaway.”

You gotta love imagination!!

Kids with Icy the EagleThis picture was taken in February at a car dealership that had the entire Komet Hockey team along with the mascot, Icy the Eagle, for a Meet-N-Greet.  The kids were excited to meet Icy and have their picture taken!  Reagan thinks he’s cute!!
